Bulbrite Celebrates Centennial Bulb One Millionth Hour

MOONACHIE, NJ – Bulbrite was on hand to celebrate the One Millionth Hour Party on June 27th at Fire Station #6 in Livermore to commemorate the Centennial Light Bulb milestone. With over 500 local residents as well as local & state representatives in attendance, the city of Livermore celebrated the Centennial Bulb and the millionth hour it has been lit.

“The celebration, much like Bulbrite was all about family, friends and tradition,” said Eric Choi, Product Manager, Bulbrite Industries. “We’re family-owned since 1971 and have been innovating, illuminating and celebrating customer and consumer lives ever since and like the Centennial Light, we look forward to continuing to shine.”

The Centennial Light Bulb is a hand-blown carbon filament common light bulb that was manufactured in Shelby, Ohio in the late 1890s and donated to the Fire Department in 1901. It has been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the longest lit bulb in the world.

Bulbrite was inspired by the longevity of the Centennial Light Bulb that it developed a 40 watt replica that is meticulously crafted to preserve the look of the longest burning light bulb in history. It is a perfect accent for any antique décor. Its compact size makes it ideal for smaller lighting designs and bright filaments emanate a warm, amber glow.

Bulbrite has long been known for its line of specialty bulbs, particularly for the early introduction of their Edison-style Nostalgic replicas in the early 1980s, and is known within the industry as the “King of Nostalgics”.
